I need to write this down to be accountable for what I said. In short, I made a goal for myself to do 12 apps in 12 months. I see many people on X and build in public community starting this challenge after Pieter Levels. And I want to try it myself.
The current problem is to find viable and good ideas to try. I made surveys on people's day-to-day problems, but it didn't give me any clue. Read some Paul Graham essays about startups and ideas and get excited about creating "the next big thing"
Also, I want to try to apply to YC and other vc's. They added two new additional batches to apply in one year. So, anyway, I will drop updates on what I built and did each month.
January
So, for January, I did a lot of work on ideas. Tried a lot of things. I actually made a video about that. (There will be resources that might help with creating new ideas)
Finally, i just come up with copying what's already on the market.
February
Started posting on social media, and made waitlist page. Started to posting on X about idea. Gained some visitors. And decided to build the app after some sign-ups. Started to building app using cursor and all the my knowledge. Learned how Supabase works, and all the stuff about modern Nextjs development.
March
On march i spent a lot of time to figure out how to render video on cloud, and figuring out how Remotion works which is sticthing all the assets of the video. Made a basic video Composition.
April
Build a fully working mvp, but locally. Had some paying testers, tried to improve the app. Changed models. Improved ui.
May
Applied to YC, Deployed the app on the server, had some paying customers who tried the platform.
